My role is to manage end to end operational deployment, verification, incident handling and support of Threat Monitoring infrastructure for our Global Customers. To provides Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Anomaly Detection, Security Information & Event Management (SIEM) and Advanced Threat Detection Services and operational and technical support and advice to our Customers and BT colleagues for on-boarding and in-life situations. I manage the deployment, testing and maintenance of software and hardware, incident investigation and diagnosis and resolution of security issues for Threat Monitoring infrastructure.

Network engineer June 11 – January 15Working as part of a team to create for a successful datacentre migration for a global customers. Designing and implementing a Network environment the customer’s main datacentre and disaster recovery site hosting over 400 blade centres and physical servers. Using ITIL processes raise technically review and implement changes on Cisco Network technology and Checkpoint Firewalls. I was transferred to British telecom under TUPE legislation In November 2013.

Work as part of a highly focused team to design, plan, and implement a network refresh for Jabil Europe, to create a platform capable of meeting any network needs for the next 5 years. Using ITIL processes create BOM’s, network and facilities diagrams, work instructions and site packs necessary to implement the refresh incurring Zero downtime for the Manufacturing facilities.

Implement Cisco VoIP solution to the major sites in Argyll and Bute Council. To configure and install all hardware needed to upgrade the network for a Cisco Callmanager solution at Argyll and Bute Council Headquarters and all major buildings.

Coordinate with designers, project managers and customers for the role out of large network installation projects. Prototype and document Cisco based solutions for national field teams. Provide technical support for field teams on a local and national basis.

Provide infrastructure support for all Server, Desktop Lan and Wan equipment on-site and ensure maximum uptime for NHS24. Responsible for providing administrative duties for all software systems including Active Directory, Microsoft exchange, Microsoft Server, Citrix client / servers and Office suit of products.

On site installation and maintenance of a wide range of Cisco based network solutions ranging throughout the business and governmental spectrum. To provide data and voice capable networks form small business data solution to contact centres and corporate level networks. Utilising a wide range of Cisco products (WIFI, Routers, Switches, Firewalls IP Telephony and SRST) to provide the optimum solution for the customer. Liaising with customers network managers and 3rd parties to provide to new or upgraded ITC solutions. To coordinate network migrations with all stakeholders and to minimise business impact to customer. On site maintenance of customer equipment providing hardware and configuration support for all levels of networks. To analyse and diagnose customer affecting issues and to liaise between affected parties and service providers. To resolve problems to the customers satisfaction.

Work as part of a team to roll out contact canters for internal and external BT customers. Under tight time-scales provide and configure all the data infrastructure required including Desktop PC's, Servers, Hubs, Switches and routers. My original remit was to image and configure Desktop PC's which moved on to Rack mounting and configuring servers and eventually on to the installation and configuration of Hubs, Switches and Routers.

On-site support for customer contact centre. To log and progress issues relating to the operation of nationwide network of contact centres using Clarify and Remedy. Liaising between customers and suppliers on issues affecting ICT operations or a windows Desktop/Server environment. Effectively communicating issues to technical and and non-technical stake holders to ensure common understanding of problems and solutions to meet worlds best practices and tight SLA's of the customer. Provide strong analytical skills needed to diagnose a varied array of PC, server and network problems. Provide solutions and liaise with 3rd parties
