Overseeing all aspects of the smooth running of my training centre, encompassing all aspects of profit and loss, statutory compliance and managing quality of service delivery.Overseeing the recruitment, performance and welfare of a team of 14 staff and 50 apprentices for blue chip companies including Total LOR and Phillips 66.Liaising closely with accredited awarding bodies in respect to their standards.Key role in strategy development, making decisions as to which courses to run.Responsible for procurement and maintenance of all specialist and non-specialist equipment.Contract negotiation with corporate clients for the training of apprentices.Staff and team development, including overseeing all aspects of statutory compliance including health and safety.Whilst managing the centre I have aslo continued to assess and deliver training as I feel that involvement with apprentices and clients through a hands on approach enhances the relationship between training provider and the client.

Initially employed to deliver the BTEC ONC in Operations and Maintenance to a group of Non Destructive testing apprentices. Moving on to assessing them in their own workplace whilst working toward their level NVQ qualification.I also instructed and assessed many of our mechanical apprentices on various sites throughout the UK, including Total Lindsey Oil Refinery and Conocco Phillips Oil Refinery throughout their 4 year apprenticship.

Owner and managing director of a steel fabrication company, organising work packages for staff, meeting with clients and pricing various tenders either as a supplier or sub-contractor. Supervising and completing individual contracts, inclusive of preparing final accounts. Teaching and coaching of work based apprentices. Ensuring all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to, either in our workshop or on site. Liaising on a regular basis with client site managers and estimators.

Responsible for the renovation and refurbishment of both buildings and engineering services, including the construction of new facilities and the expansion of building services infrastructure. Direct supervision of on-site contractors. Chairing meetings. Contractor evaluation and award. Assisting in the in development and expansion of the existing factory infrastructure and improving engineering facilities. Contributing to strategy formulation and forward planning as a member of the management team. Writing technical specifications and overseeing production of conceptual drawings, preliminary design criteria for project including Scope of Work, Work Breakdown Structure and general specification, milestone identification and planning. Maintaining change controls. Identifying service needs, solving engineering problems relating to the continuous expansion of the site.Providing efficient and reliable buildings and engineering services. Establishing “Planned and Preventive Maintenance” TPM programs and procedures on existing plant and after project closure. Reporting project status at progress meetings. Ensuring all resources (manpower and materials), are provided as per the contractor’s scheduled plan, meet all KPIs on time and within budget.
