Mark Olear is an accomplished commercial real estate industry professional with nearly 40 years’ experience acquiring, developing, and optimizing quality commercial assets across the United States. Mark is currently the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Getty Realty Corp. (GTY: NYSE). Getty is the leading public REIT specializing in investing in the convenience automotive retail experience. Mark is responsible for oversight of all of Getty’s acquisitions, investments, dispositions, development, environmental management, compliance, asset management and property operations. Since joining Getty in 2014, Mark has provided leadership to a team that has acquired over 500 properties with total investment of more than $1.5b either through the funding and acquisition of new assets, or the redevelopment of several of Getty’s core assets positioning the company with a strong balance sheet with a clear plan for material growth. Additionally, over $100mm has been spent to reduce the company’s environmental liability.Mark began his career in 1986 with Pathmark Supermarkets, supporting new store development. This early experience sparked an intellectual curiosity that drove Mark to roles of increasing scope and responsibility within the real estate departments of industry leading organizations including Toys R Us, A&P Supermarkets, Home Depot and TD Bank. Mark’s career evolved from a significant contributor to a senior leader of retail growth initiatives.
