I manage, supervise and train classes of 25+ Police Officers during their 26 week foundation programme. As a Police officer my career was embedded in criminal investigation, training, negotiation and the management of these policing pillars. I was a manager and supervisor for over 15 years of my service. My commitment and passion towards negotiation and working with persons in crisis is illustrated by the fact that I was on call for 22% of my final 12 months of service. I am still passionate about helping people and this forms a key part of the training I now deliver. Between 2009 and 2020 I worked as a National Police Negotiator and Coordinator, trained to deal with Hostage, Crisis, Kidnap & Counter-Terrorism Negotiation. I dealt with over 300 incidents, working with emotionally and mentally distressed individuals, siege and hostage negotiations and kidnap investigations. I was also heavily involved in training other partner agencies in ‘First Responder Negotiation’ including staff at the Humber Bridge where I forged strong working relations with these partners and colleagues. During my Police service I received my ‘Long Service & Good Conduct’ medal and was commended on 5 occasions by the Chief Constable. In 2012 I received a bravery award from the Royal Humane Society in relation to an incident I managed at the Humber Bridge.
