Used Arrow for compressible fluids and Fathom for noncompressible fluid flows with Caesar II for pipe stress and support design. Selected equipment including separators, valves, piping, and instrumentation.•Designed 108” sluice gates, rack and pinion gears, shafts, and bearings for ArcelorMittal Burns Harbor water intake stations from Lake Michigan. Selected all materials and interfaced with machine shop to manufacture and test.•Modified pressurized deaerator tank for addition of new instrumentation. Modification included ASME BPVC Section VIII code compliance for inspection and stamping. •Designed heating and air conditioning for 80” hot strip motor and electrical basement at steel mill in East Chicago. Installation included selection of all equipment including three water cooled 175-ton air conditioners, heat exchangers, cooling coils, steam heating coils, filters, piping, valves, steam traps, piping supports, and filters. •Determined criteria for new turbines, pumps, impellers, and motors to 4 cross tied banks that contained 84 coke ovens each at Burns Harbor steel mill. Developed a Fathom model that included all coke ovens with 5 nozzles, pumps, and piping.

Designed rigging to move spent fuel casks with spent fuel to train cars for long term storage. Planned rigging of pipe and equipment to assure adequate support for rigging materials and pipe is not overstressed using ANSYS and equipment and pipe for equipment maintenance and modification. •Evaluated piping and tanks for erosion and corrosion were based on equipment history, routine inspections, and focused UT inspections. Developed inspection maps then analyzed results for further action. •Designed piping and hanger systems, equipment installation specs, and repair modifications.
