I have joined Total Training to develop the rail training division. I will ensure that all the facilities, accreditation's & qualification are to the highest standards to meet the growing training requirements in the rail industry.I will be responsible for quality assurance & compliance within the accrediting & certificating bodies. I will develop the training centres across the UK & build a highly skilled workforce to deliver & coordinate a high quality training programme.

2013-Present Training & Compliance Controller Balfour Beatty (GDSP)Due to Morgan Sindall’s loss of the contract I was involved in a TUPE transfer to Balfour Beatty. With my skill set, Knowledge & experience in Training, Compliance & SHEQ I was automatically slotted into the position of Training & Compliance Controller. The main duties in this role are to ensure the qualifications, competency, & compliance of 800 + employees is up to date, adequate & at the correct level required to complete their role safely & compliantly. I manage a team of trainers, compliance officers, training coordinators & compliance administrators. I implement strategic training programmes to ensure the GDSP can deliver the 8 year mains replacement programme safely, competently & compliantly.I review & evaluate the quality of training material & training delivery to ensure it meets the business needs & it is delivered to the correct standard. I am the quality assurance manager & internal verifier for the West midlands training centre & the direct contact for City & Guilds. I manage the compliance for the GDSP; this includes overseeing the low level reports & being actively involved in the medium & high level reports.

My main role was to manage Morgan Sindalls Training Department. Within this role the main duties and responsibilities included planning training for over 780 industrial and office based staff, ensuring the competence of Morgan Sindall workforce to enable the delivery of works, controlling a training budget of £500K +, whilst controlling and coordinating the STC process, and reviewing and evaluating the quality of training material and training delivery. I was also responsible for managing and supporting the compliance department, managing and carrying out non-compliance investigations at low, medium and high levels, as well as temporarily managing the Health and Safety department as part of the role. Finally, I completed the development and implementation of an award winning apprenticeship and gained city and guilds accreditation and direct claims for WMGA training centre.

2005-2009 Lead Assessor National GridSecuring the promotion to a Lead Assessor (Level 6 Manager) made me the National Internal Verifier for National Grid on the GNO 6029 NVQ. Within this my duties included Managing a team of 30 assessors with over 100 candidates working towards completing the GNO Qualification, Being integral in the writing of training packages and proof-reading and evaluating existing packages and Auditing the training supplier training to ensure the competency and quality of delivery. I was also responsible for leading the development of J.E.A. (Joint Emergency Assessments) incorporating L.C.T. as a means of assessing the use of the Cat and Genny and Emergency Procedures, as well as Leading the development of C.A.P. (Competency Assessment Process) being instrumental in its introduction & delivery.Work History Continued…1980-2005 Technician/Supervisor British Gas - Transco - National Grid Starting as an Operative, I successfully worked my way up to a technician requiring me to lay mains, services and responding to, locating and repairing gas escapes. Within this role, I effectively managed teams from up to 6 people and run projects commanding up to 5 teams. I also Coordinated the GNE qualification for the North Sector of the West Midlands, Setting up, writing and delivering many training courses over the West Midlands.
