Mark is the Principal of Hillcrest Financial Services. He has had 37 years experience in the finance industry, 27 years as a Financial Adviser Mark is passionate about helping people to understand their financial situation and investments to ensure they make informed decisions and take control of their financial future. He believes that people are happier when they make the decision themselves as a result of being well informed. Mark will go out of his way to make sure his clients understand what their options are, what the risks are, and the likely implications of their actions. Therefore, his role is usually that of Financial Coach/Strategist. Mark has held senior roles with several major banks before spending time as a Financial Adviser with NRMA Financial Planning where in 2000 he was named NRMA’s Regional Financial Adviser of the Year. In 2001, Mark took on the challenge of running and developing Hillcrest Financial Services (HFS) into the respected practice that it is today. Mark is a Certified Financial Planner, holder of a Diploma of Financial Planning (Deakin University) 2001, a Diploma of Financial Markets (Securities Institute of Australia now FINSIA) and a Master's Degree in financial planning (Kaplan Professional). In 2018 Mark was elevated to the designation of Fellow of the Financial Services institute of Australasia (FINSIA), in recognition of his years of service to the finance industry along with his dedication to post graduate studies. Mark’s continued vision is to have a financial planning practice that genuinely puts clients’ needs ahead of the adviser. One that focuses on the Client's Strategies and goals rather than focusing on a product.
