Accountable to the management of Brunei Shell Petroleum for the provision of safe and efficient aviation service in support of the Company's drilling, production and engineering operations; Nominated Accountable Manager acceptable to the Director of Civil Aviation, Brunei; Responsible for ensuring that Flight, Ground and Maintenance Operations carried out by Brunei Shell Aviation Department meet those standards required by the DCA Brunei (BDCA), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Shell Group Control Framework; Maintain the Aviation Department in accordance with the Discipline, Control and Assurance Framework (DCAF); Maintain the Company’s License-To-Operate in accordance with the Brunei Civil Aviation Requirements (BCAR); Manage and act as Contract Owner for the department’s contracts and agreements; Provide specialist aviation advice for the Company in the capacity as Technical Authority (TA1); Develop and maintain Company Aviation policies and procedures; Set and maintain appropriate operational and HSE standards for all aviation activities in line with the aviation industry and Group guidelines; Maintain and manage sufficient aviation resources in terms of manpower, assets, facilities and equipment to ensure safe, efficient and cost effective aviation support of the Company’s exploration, production and drilling activities; Maintain company aviation helicopters; Provide the appropriate recovery support in accordance with the Group guidelines for Tier 3 response criteria and the Control Framework; Maintain the department’s annual budget, Business Plan, HSE plan and KPIs to support planned aviation activities; Responsible for long term localisation of the Aviation Department with subsequent development, monitoring and training of local staff.

Shell Oil Company 2008-2010Senior Aviation Adviser, Americas Accountable to Senior Management and Business Unit Leaders for development and participation in Safety and Quality within SAI, ensuring compliance with Shell Group and SAI harmonised standards, procedures, guidelines and business principles; Generate the North American aviation advisory service element of the SAI Business Plan and present for approval; Provide co-ordinated specialist aviation advice, assistance and oversight of SAI support in respect of EPW regional activities within the South and Central Americas; Support the development of the North American SAI Corporate Fleet (Houston and Calgary) Safety Case documents, harmonised so far as reasonably practicable with the hazard risk analysis procedures that are documented in the SAL Corporate Fleet Safety Case document, and provide both internal (Corporate Fleet) and external (contracted air operators) customers with aviation Safety Management System and Safety Case development training as required; Plan, task, co-ordinate with the Senior Advisor Audit Plans & Programmes or otherwise conduct operational and technical audits throughout the Americas, issue timely reports, and provide OU aviation staff training and support with respect to audit procedures, standards and compiling reports; Develop, in conjunction with the Global Logistics Coordinator, Global Category Manager (Aircraft), SAI Commercial Manager and Client Managers, initiatives aimed at improving aviation logistics management and contracting support to Shell and affiliate companies in terms of strategy and tendering; Be conversant with current and developing aircraft and equipment technologies, and operating and maintenance procedures, together with quality and safety management system developments;

Rotterdam Area, Netherlands

Accountable to Management to conduct audits of aircraft operators and associated facilities worldwide, to assure the safety and quality of aircraft services provided to the Group. To provide specialist technical and contracting strategy advice to OU and Ex Com customers.The Key Areas of responsibility and accountability were to: Perform operational and technical audits and the issue of timely reports after approval by the Advisory Service Director or Senior Adviser. Ensure recommendations arising from audits were followed-up in line with the periodicities stated in the reports. Ensure that where insufficient action has been taken to close safety critical recommendations by the agreed target date that communication is escalated to the appropriate higher level. Endeavour to ensure that the principles of aviation safety management have been adopted by aircraft operators during the audit process. Act as Focal Point (FP) for specific area of expertise (which may be changed from time to time) and keep up-to-date, in particular, in those specific subjects.  Perform additional duties in support of the internal management of SAI

Nigeria

To support the in country Corporate Aviation Manager in Nigeria, by acting as Contract Holder of the EC 155 Helicopter Contract, and by promoting HSE & Shell Group Standards, plus providing guidance on operational issues to the group of Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN). Both for onshore, and offshore aviation activities. The Key Areas of responsibility and accountability were the implementation of SAI Group Standards, Base standardization, Safety administration, steering Safety Management systems, auditing, & advisory services, Contract Management review and guidance, assisting the Corporate Aviation Manager, and its contractors, by providing recommendations, and solutions for safe, effective operational control on aviation related matters within the region.

Maintenance of existing Commercial business in the Region as well as the development of new contracts and opportunities in S.E. Asia. Asia represented a vast majority of the Division's portfolio of business and potential growth opportunities. Primary areas of responsibility: Effective customer relationships, overall Group Standardization of Operations and satisfying CHC customers emerging demands for management systems as the primary objective in Thailand, Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei, India, Korea, and Taiwan.
