I am both an orchestral conductor and a philosopher. I am Music Director and Conductor of both the Willamette Falls Symphony and Tualatin Valley Symphony in Oregon (USA). I am also Music director of the Oregon Mahler Festival, which gathers musicians each summer to play a Mahler symphony. I have conducted orchestras in Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Ohio, California, Connecticut, and more. Internationally, I have conducted in the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, and Denmark. I taught at Western Oregon University as a Professor of Philosophy from 1998 - 2022, and am now Professor Emeritus. I am the author of a book, co-editor of a collection of essays, and author of numerous papers in philosophy and music. I have stepped away from teaching to focus on conducting, and am looking for opportunities to expand my conducting activities.
