About Mark Pernice

A New York native and SVA alum, Mark has 20 years experience as an award-winning art director, designer, and illustrator. Mark advanced from early work in movie poster design to working under renowned graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister as well as Pentagram, regarded as the world's largest independently-owned design studio.Mark’s work was most recently awarded The Society of Illustrators gold medal in editorial illustration, the 120 year old institution's highest honor and has been recognized by American illustration, The New York Times Most Notable Illustration, AIGA, Print, HOW and Graphis. Select clients include Apple, Audible, Buzzfeed, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, GQ, Lippincott, The NY Times, The New Yorker and Vans.From 2012-2016 Mark founded and ran the design studio Young Professionals. During that time the book design ‘2005’ was shortlisted and honorably mentioned in the Anamorphis Prize for self published photo books and selected to be included in MoMA’s permanent library in. In 2010 Pernice’s Photo Booth Mask project gained viral attention with over 1.5 million hits in the projects first 3 months garnering press worldwide.
