Senior Research Associate
CurrentAssists in the development of logistical and research proposals, plans and protocols. Conducts experiments, investigations and studies related to programs and projects in pursuit of new knowledge, techniques and concepts. Assists in the preparation of research results for publication or presentation at conferences.Provides on-site assistance to commercial fish producers in East MS (12,000 acres) to assess needs, provide presumptive diagnostics, develop and implement educational (Veterinary Medical and Technical) programs to address fish health, water quality and water use, production and other management related problems. Works closely with producers, researchers, multiple federal and state agencies, vendors and representatives of the aquaculture industry in order to strengthen commercial aquaculture in East Mississippi. Serves on team(s) to support efforts to alleviate poverty and improve nutrition in vulnerable international populations. These efforts are administered through the USAID Feed the Future Fish Innovation (Mississippi State University) Laboratory.
