In my current position at Octagon Research, I oversee the installation of all end-user software. In order to keep track of software licenses and hardware, I wrote a program that manages that information in a database. One of my great accomplishments at Octagon, is the successful upgrade of all end-user computers to Windows XP. I have great experience with Active Directory and Group Policy (locking down end-user computers, and deploying software). To test new software, or network infrastructure changes, I built a test environment using VMware Server on a Linux host. This has proved to be extremely valuable many times, as we were able to test various “what-if” scenarios before we made a deployment.
