Mark is a highly experienced Director and Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 27 years of relevant experience in managing teams and delivering complex engineering projects. For the last 15 years he has specialised in Waste to Energy infrastructure but also has significant experience in defence related infrastructure and automotive engineering. Specific areas of waste technical expertise are Anaerobic Digestion (AD), Energy from Waste (EfW), and Waste to Fuels. Mark has delivered EfW, AD and novel Waste to Fuels plants from the inception stage through each phase of development and procurement through to construction and operation. Prior to re-joining Ricardo in 2023, Mark was Engineering Director at Agrivert, responsible for the design of a 300 tpd high specification AD plant in Hong Kong with a capital value of £240M (HK$2.1Bn). This depth of experience across Waste to Energy projects has enabled Mark to provide expert witness services on significant UK and international construction related disputes. As well as being well respected in the UK, Mark also has an international profile, advising the European Commission on the development of Waste to Energy and advising the Chinese government on low carbon infrastructure.Prior to specialising in Waste to Energy, Mark managed construction projects within the defence sector both within the Civil Service (Defence Estates) and latterly as a consultant at Amec.
