New Products are the lifeblood of most businesses. For nearly all of my professional career, I have worked on bringing new products to market in some role. I enjoy the process and challenges of bringing new products to market. Some products that are in production may need cost reduction ideas to keep the product fresh. I have worked on many cost reduction projects to help the customer realize cost savings. Looking at a product to reduce costs has many similarities to developing a new product. My background in tooling (both mold and die work) is a tremendous foundation to build upon when developing new products. I was fortunate to get a chance to work in the rapid prototyping industry in the late 1990's when this industry was still in it's early years. This experience further strengthened my skill set for developing new products and retooling existing products.Using the latest CAD/CAM/CAE tools to their fullest adds yet another beneficial skill set to help bring new products to market. I have well over 10,000 hours of CAD use in both Solidworks and PTC Pro-Engineer software.Working closely with manufacturing at several of my jobs, I have become a fan of ISO Quality systems, Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement. Once a product is launched into production, the real learning begins.
