Deploying releases to systems on a tightly defined release schedule. Building and configuring Windows 2008, IIS 7 based webservers and VMware vSphere 4 based virtual environments.

In this role I took on the management, development and maintenance of an existing, multi-site, UK-wide Microsoft SMS 2003 hierarchy, situated within a 20,000 account enterprise AD environment. Key milestones of this role included: migrating to Microsoft's SCCM 2007, expanding the hierarchy to cover (at current) 18 sites containing over 6,000 devices across the UK, North America, Canada, India and Australia; and developing, implementing and maintaining the security patching regime for the enterprise, which utilised the integration of WSUS within SCCM itself.Software packaging, scripting and distribution were also a large part of this role. SCCM was used more and more frequently to deliver large scale, enterprise wide distributions of software such as Office, Internet Explorer, disk encryption and anti-virus software packages, amongst many other smaller, highly targeted tasks and advertisements.The management of SCCM also required me to work very closely with other teams in the department where I gained valuable exposure to various aspects of AD and server (both physical and virtual) management.More recent developments included the use of SCCM for creating and deploying Windows 7 builds to desktops and laptops, and also regularly providing invaluable audit data from SCCM, for use in software licence management, and other audit based tasks and requirements.

Model OfficeJoined, and in time took on, the business'​ 'Model Office'​ function. This involved building and maintaining operating system images for a variety of hardware types, software packaging and distribution, and internal support. Additional tasks involved maintaining the business'​ servers, AD environment and comms infrastructure.
