All Over The North East

I have worked on both large and small projects in the construction industry, from hospitals to small house extensions in just about all aspects of the plastering field. Over the years I have used nearly all internal and external plasters such as, Weber Pral M, OCR, Tyrolean plus other render systems. pebble dashing, tanking/damp proofing and cementitious fireproofing ie mandolite and fendolite, dry lining ie dot and dab and ames taping. I have also learned how to erect metal stud and mf systems. I also have to deal with general public, contracts managers, HSE, planning departments, architects. In my time working for myself I have gained a massive understanding of how planning and budgeting are the most important aspects of running your own business.

I've been working for my local authority on void properties,taking job sheets from my voids manager and completing any plastering work on the properties. Basically getting them ready for new tenants to be able move straight in. mainly patching and tiling re-grouting, blocking up old gas fireplaces and re-plastering the chimney breast.

I'm currently working on bespoke one off properties around the Northumberland area. The job I'm on at the moment is putting a external render system onto a new build house in Berwick using Weber pral. Before this job I worked on a refurb of a farm house in Bedlington, the job was using thermal boards to all external walls by dot and dab and a secondary fix and thermal boards on the vaulted ceilings. Then Skimming the full house throughout, I also tiled the bathrooms and kitchen splash backs and floor. On both of these jobs I work to strict health and safety procedures and work to tight working deadlines..

Aoka Mizu Fpso

Working on the Aoka Mizu FPSO. The job is removing faulty and poorly applied therma lag from the blast wall using an RPR machine, then blasting and priming the steel then applying Pittchar PFP to specification of the client. Then painting the pittchar with a sealer Coat then two coats of top coats.

North Sea

I worked as a rope access firerproofer for Cape. Working on different platforms around the North Sea, like the BP Bruce working on the tar. The job on the Bruce was patching up contact points on steel beams were scaffold had been taken down by cows tailing throw the pipe work to get at the areas to coat up with Chartek 7, then paint in to match up with the existing PFP.

Nexen Golden Eagle

My role on the Golden Eagle project is to prep and prime the steel to be coated in PFP (Chartek). I have also worked on the ropes access side of the job. Also on the project I worked part of a small team building habitates mixing materials and keeping work areas clean and tidy.

I worked for a large plastering contractor on large sites across the North east like the RVI hospital, Baltic quay flats, Kings school Tynemouth, Freeman hospital. On these sites I used a vast range of internal and external products such as one coat render systems, internal tanking systems, armor coat polished plaster finishes, wet dashing, pebble dashing, metal stud systems, fire walls. I worked to tight schedules and strict health and safety procedures. In my role I had the manage staff and train apprentices to very high standards. I also had the work with site managers and contract managers to keep jobs on track and to plan for other trades to work together. Also in my roll within the company I would be in charge of planning and ordering materials from merchants.

Gateshead

In my roll as a plasterer I worked on both occupied and void properties mainly re skimming and tiling and patch ups. I had to work with the tenants and managers to get jobs done to tight schedules and the very strict health and safety regulations. I also had to gain my asbestos awareness certificates. I would also have to organise my job sheets and deal with the general public on a daily basis.
