As a 1997 graduate of Mansfield University, I have teaching experience in the Kindergarten through 12th grade levels, in both vocal and instrumental areas as well as drama and theatre in suburban and urban school districts. I have completed my course work for my 6th year degree through the University of New England. During my internship with Paul Smith, Superintendent of Griswold Public Schools, I was able to work with his administrative staff, learning and using my skills to assist Paul with creating the districts 2022 vision, attending and discussing budgeting and personnel issue. As part of my internship I also took on the leadership role as the CMEA Festival Director. My responsibilities included creating and scheduling the events daily activities, overseeing the 100 plus staff and 600 plus student performers, the organization of two concerts including the programs, tickets video and recording of the event and maintaining a positive environment, while supporting the community of over 1600 parents, friends and community member coming to the event. Creating a positive and exciting learning environment for all in attendance. I completed my Educational Technology/Administration Supervision from Eastern Connecticut State University. At the present time I am teaching at Lincoln Middle where I help support our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. I have served on the PBIS committee, scheduling committee, the school climate board and HOT’s committee. As a member of these committees, we are entrusted in presenting our Higher Order Thinking Magnet School program, which provides visual and performing art support to teach using the arts in all classrooms subjects.
