I now work at Wainstalls J&I School as an ICT Teacher and Computing Support Technician. So far, I've been involved in the training of their VLE system as well as teaching basic PC skills, for key stage 1, through to animation and programming for the older children. I also maintain the school website.I'm still working towards my degree, starting my second year in 2014, and have also recently completed the level 2 and level 3 personal training courses... Just awaiting the results now!Previous life....I was a Senior Oracle Developer with 16 years experience within financial services. For at least 12 of those years I worked within an IT team using mainly Oracle products. I designed and delivered solutions for both front and back end projects including regulatory releases, maintenance projects and functional improvements.I was also involved in an 18 month project to migrate 2.5m accounts from Oracle 10g to CPUs non-oracle systems. During that period I wrote migration scripts, analysed data, took part in data mapping discussions and executed processes. In order to deliver the project this also included night shifts, weekend work and overnight trips.I took part in application support using in-house Issue Manager Software including 2nd and 3rd line support of a Share Schemes department dealing with account balances in excess of £500m.Using Test Director, I have taken part in the system testing of Oracle Forms & Reports plus PL\SQL packages, procedures and triggers etc.I've also worked closely with UAT teams to assist defect detection and correction.The support, training and mentoring of junior staff/onshore contractors, including peer reviews of code, has also been a role that I have enjoyed during the last few years.Specialties: Teaching of; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Paint, Film Street, City Creator, RM Colour Magic, RM Number Magic, Scratch Animation/Programming.
