Haws & Tingle was a contractor that self performed concrete, millwork, stone work, metal fabrication and other work. We did historic renovation and tilt up wall buildings. The owner liked to do as much in house work as possible. I was in charge of the millwork division. I could go from a two man shop to as many as 25 man shop depending on the project. I some times built custom forms for the concrete division in the millwork shop. On one job the glass man said that it was the first time that he measured 39 window openings in a tilt up wall building and all 39 were the same size to the 1/32". Well i ran all the form material thru the planer to make it the same thickness and cut everything exact on a radial arm saw. That is the in between work. Some of my projects includeElder Annex a 1918 school in Fort Worth. Elder had over 400 windows to restore. We restored windows, doors, moldings, the auditorium, cabinets in the classrooms and hand railing at stairs.SMU Perkins Chapel in Dallas I restored the millwork, windows, moldings, doors and turned 8 lamp post. The lamp post were 8" in diameter made of Red Wood laminated using Resorcinal wood glue.Old Red Court House Dallas Texas There are 396 wood windows 240 of witch have curved tops or curved faces 32 of the curved windows have curved tops and faces.
