Biomedical Science PhD candidate with a concentration in Cancer Biology working in the Dominguez-Sola lab. ● Determined the contribution of FOXO1 mutations to lymphomagenesis through CRISPR-Cas9 engineered cell lines, mouse models, and primary patient samples● Independently developed and implemented protocols to elucidate the role of the transcription factor FOXO1 in controlling chromatin architecture and epigenetic landscapes in germinal center B cells. ● Managed dynamic collaborations with other research groups which resulted in co-authorship in multiple high impact publications in the fields of immunology and cancer biology ● Regularly communicated scientific discoveries in both institution-wide meetings and international scientific conferences ● Directly responsible for mentoring new lab members, including one high school student, one college student, and one postdoctoral fellow

Worked with a team of chemists and molecular biologists to characterize and validate a novel small molecular inhibitor for the treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC).Directly responsible for validating safety and efficacy of the small molecule inhibitor by utilizing both HCC cell lines and xenograft models. This work resulted in authorship on a publication describing the cellular mechanism through which the novel inhibitor induces cell cycle arrest in HCC cells.

Worked with a PhD Candidate to generate and test functional gold nanoparticles for the purpose of targeting and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. Was directly responsible for optimizing chemical reactions for coating gold nanoparticles with functional proteins in order to maximize particle uptake specifically by cancer cells. Uptake of the particles was then validated using dark-field microscopy.

Collected and tested water samples for cyanobacteria. Designed and updated a website that informed the public of dangerously high bacteria levels.

Worked directly with a Postdoctoral Researcher to generate and characterize gold nanoparticles to be used for functional assays.
