Responsible for LSI’s tax compliance and reporting functions:·Managed team of 5 tax professionals in the preparation, review and filing of LSI’s US and non-US tax returns and foreign statutory accounts·Established transfer pricing policies, ensured transfer pricing was properly recorded and documentation was prepared and reviewed·Managed team in the preparation and review of LSI’s worldwide tax provision ·Worked with cross functional team in the final review of 10-Q and 10-K filingsInternational Tax Planning:·Responsible for implementing various international tax planning and restructuring projects including: IP planning including transferring IP offshore and developing a cost-sharing arrangement·Established Hungarian offshore structure, transferring IP to Hungary, to save withholding taxes on royalties. ·Coordinated cash repatriation projects in Asia and Europe due to changes in business requirements, in a tax efficient manner, bringing back over $200 million·Worked with cross functional team on a business restructuring project to move operations from Hong Kong to Singapore after receiving significant tax incentives from the Singapore EDB Mergers and Acquisitions:·Involved in tax due diligence activities of acquired companies (and potential acquired companies), including providing input on tax related sections of purchase agreements·Partnered with cross functional teams in integrating acquired businesses into LSI’s tax structure and ERP system (SAP)·Coordinated with legal, finance and outside consultants in a legal entity simplification project post acquisition in countries in Asia and Europe taking into account tax and non-tax considerations. Tax Audits:·Assisted VP-Tax on significant tax audits in the US (federal), Singapore and Hong Kong·Managed various foreign tax audits·Involved with negotiating a unilateral APA with the IRS on a cost sharing arrangement·Worked with outside consultants on a US-India MAP case
