It Manager
CurrentUsing Hyper-V, I turned an inefficient physical server system into a flexible and resilient virtualized server infrastructure providing nearly 100% uptime to file and license servers as well as accounting and other internal systems. By offloading Exchange and Skype for Business to the Microsoft 365 platform, I increased system security with multifactor authentication, reduced the cost of local infrastructure licensing, maintenance and upkeep, and decreased end user licensing administration across the entire Microsoft platform. Using Group Policy and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager I controlled the cadence of Windows 10 and Office 365 updates, upgrades and deployments. I applied corporate branding across all devices, maintained a library of over 100 Architecture, Engineering and Construction related software packages including Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam PDF, Etap and a host of other drafting, design and specification tools available for deployment or self-installation by team members. In the Summer of 2017, we moved offices which provided me an opportunity to redesign and build out a new network infrastructure including racks, network cabling, switches, managed wireless network, firewall, and a single 10KW UPS. I negotiated a contract with a new ISP, and over one weekend moved all servers and workstations from the old office location to the new one. I cutover external services to the new ISP and had our network up and running by Monday morning with staff picking up work where they left off on the previous Friday.
