Mark has particular expertise communicating with those individuals dealing with traumas.Mark has expertise in the fields of drug & alcohol, relationships and mental health. He has a BA with honors from La Trobe University and a BSW from Victoria University. Furthermore, Mark is a mental health accredited social worker with Medicare Australia and a member of the AASW. He is skilled in relationships, addiction and mental health issues.Helping people make lasting changes to their lives, finding solutions to problems, while gaining in confidence, is what Mark enjoys most about his work. Mark utilizes a solution-focused therapy approach to assist clients to identify and modify problematic thoughts, emotions and behaviors. He draws on a number of established evidenced based therapies, including; Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Activation (BA), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy.Mark believes you need to look beyond any diagnosis and see a person’s struggles as part of their life journey. Therefore, counselling can include looking at where a person has come from, there past influences, value formation and future hopes.
