TWI is an Industrial Membership based Research and Technology Organisation. TWI provides technical guidance on all welding, joining and surfacing processes and has expertise in all materials including metals, plastics, ceramics and composites.Programme Manager – Membership Development• Meeting and exceeding targets for the recruitment and retention of TWI’s portfolio of 130 Transport and Engineering Sector Industrial Members – CRM account management, liaison visits, developing contacts, identifying and developing new prospects and business leads. • Managing the responses to technical and membership enquiries and generating detailed proposals.• Recruiting companies across all Industry Sectors, including Automotive, Medical & Aerospace Sectors. Sheffield, United Kingdom

November 2001 to April 2005 Doncasters Bramah, Sheffield Joint Strike Fighter Programme Manager- manufacture of lift system parts for the JSF STOVL variant during the System Design & Development phase. • Responsible for the development and commissioning of new forming and welding methods and existing manufacturing methods and tooling. The programme included six different titanium fabrications, Tig and EB welding techniques and close tolerance post weld machining of large assemblies.• Influencing the customer's design through "Design for Manufacture" sessions and customer technical liaison. • Techniques for diffusion bonding, hot creep & super plastic forming of titanium were developed to create complex components for the aircraft lift system.• Operational supervision of a dedicated team of 6 engineering staff, including interviewing and recruitment.• Development phase budget control included tooling and other costs of over £1.5 million. September 1995 to October 1999 IEP/ Doncasters Bramah, Sheffield Manufacturing Engineer- Exhausts Business Centre- manufacture of aircraft jet engine exhausts. • Specification and control of manufacturing methods to Aerospace standards, including hydraulic forming, machining, welding and assembly of sheet metal components in Nimonic, Titanium and other special alloys.• Specification and project management of tooling procurement- i.e. Boeing 737-300 Core Nozzle Assembly in-load.• Use of EFACS manufacturing method control and AutoCAD drawing system.
