I have a broad background working for central, regional and local government, private consultancies and as a contractor and self-employed with my own business. This has covered building, civil engineering, surveying, planning, regulatory and compliance, tutoring and adventure tourism work. In 2016 I achieved the Making Good Decisions Panel certification and am accredited to sit on RMA hearings panels.Growing up in the Pacific I developed cultural awareness and a strong sense of social justice that has led to my involvement with various community and aid groups, participating and leading four building teams to the Solomon Islands, Samoa and Thailand. I have been involved in community support work with youth and older people and those from different ethnic backgrounds.My work in adventure tourism developed the ability to think well under pressure, lead groups through difficult situations and to handle pressure situations.
