About Mark Rowson
Graduating in Aeronautical Engineering from Bristol University, I initially worked for Marconi Underwater Systems as a software engineer involved in guidance systems. I then moved to the Simulation industry with Link Miles as a software systems analyst specialising in Autoflight systems. Following acquisition of Link Miles by Thomson-CSF, (now Thales) I moved to Sales Management, progressing to VP Sales and Marketing. I subsequently joined the Corporate team of Thales UK and have undertaken various Senior roles oriented towards business growth in both new sectors and new geographic markets. I now lead the Maritime Mine Countermeasures segment, of Thales Underwater Systems business line. With major operations in France, UK and Australia, as well as several key international cooperation programs, we are one of the largest and most international Business Lines in Thales. I enjoy being part of a great team.

As part of the Underwater Systems Business Line of Thales Defence Mission Systems, I lead the Mine Warfare business segment. We provide Maritime Mine Countermeasures to over 25 of the world's Navies, ranging from traditional Hull Mounted and Variable Depth sonar to the very latest autonomous and remotely operated Systems, with on-going development of sensors, command and control, and artificial intelligence.
