I work with the City of Ellensburg Washington’s Community Development Department. Duties include GMA, SEPA, Critical Area, zoning and subdivision aspects of the consolidated Land Development Code. Previously as Planner I with City of Hamilton Montana, I was part of a 2-person department for a small town experiencing significant growth challenges, working a variety short- and long-range generalist planning duties. Experience included a Comprehensive Plan update, and phased Zoning Code updates facilitated in-house. I earned my M.S. in Bioregional Planning and Community Design from the University of Idaho, where I studied ex-urban development and published on the urgency of rural planning praxis, while working full-time with Latah County's Planning and Building Department.My long-term interest is the sustainable development and economic resilience of small-town communities and regional systems, particularly in the greater Northwest. I also have an extensive background in customer service and training in performing arts.
