Leaving school at 16, I completed a modern apprenticeship at Rolls Royce working through college to achieve my Btec in engineering.Completing the apprenticeship scheme enabled me to enter the shop floor as an Engine Fitter”, working upwards through the roll of “Engine Tester” and finally being promoted to “Test Team Engineer”.The Test Team Engineer role involves me being responsible & leading a dedicated test team of 5-8 running one of the large engine test bed facilities in derby. Carrying out full production tests &cross calibration tests IAW part 21 and part 145 regulations for all engine types (v2500 A1 A5, Trent 500, 700, 800, 900, 1000 7000 and more recently XWB)I have recently moved to the development side of theBusiness working on various development testing such as SAF, water and sand ingestion, 150hr type testing, EEC operability, fuel Spiking & chopping across all engine programmes.Along with the full engine test, I carry out engine maintenance, slave equipment fitment, unit changes, fault finding and work with different departments on a daily basis to achieve our goalsOutside work I have enjoyed renovating 4 houses since leaving school, played semi professional football for many years to a high level I’m A keen aviation and Motorcycle fan, more so for old vintage aircraft & bikes, enjoy building andFabricating vintage bikes for road riding as well as also enjoying track-days.My biggest achievement to date, to gain my private helicopter pilots licence on both the cabri G2, and R44 which I am Looking to enjoy further
