SUMMARY:Customer oriented Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) with over twenty (20) years of progressive Purchasing and Accounting experience, including Manager, MRO & Strategic Purchasing, and Controller. Understand all Purchasing and Accounting functions, as well as the interrelationship between the two. Able to develop procedures and internal controls, and perform complex financial analyses. Current Responsibilities include:- Strategic purchasing initiatives, review and implementation of group purchasing programs, and major capital expenditures at all North American facilities, including two in the U.S. and three in Canada. Over $54MM/year in annual spend. - MRO and Services acquisitions for all North American facilities, and providing sourcing, and contract support for a sixth facility in Monterrey Mexico.- Negotiate, purchase & monitor $1MM/year of natural gas and gas transportation.- Supervise/train/mentor two buyers, and two college interns.- Responsible for all contacts, and Terms & Conditions negotiations. - Work with IT to develop and refine purchasing tools within our purchasing system.- Developing Purchasing Department Metrics- Introduced Purchasing Cards, developed procedures, perform compliance audits.- Maintain vendor relationships & resolve issues.- Work with Accounts Payable personnel on; new vendors, payment terms, progress payments, receiving issues, and accrual issues. Approve invoices for payment.- Solicit and analyze bids, issue purchase orders, and resolve performance issues.- Coordinate, evaluate, and award scrap sales averaging over $12MM per year.- Currently work with Microsoft Word and Excel, Tandem, and Ivara Purchasing. Have several years previous experience with two different SAP systems. - Responsible for implementation of a new purchasing system at three facilities. - Maintain constant awareness of safety, environmental, legal, ethical, and budget issues.
