I have been representing employers and practicing labor and employment law in Sacramento since 1991.Specialties: I represent private sector employers in Northern California in a wide variety of labor and employment law matters including: traditional labor law - union relations and disputes, union organizing, employment litigation - discrimination/harassment/wrongful termination, arbitrations, wage and hour, advice, and investigations of personnel issues. I practice throughout California.I am involved in other business ventures as well. I am a minority owner in two minor league sports teams (@Union Omaha USL League One Soccer Champions (#onemeansall) and the @Mongomery Biscuits AA Baseball Team affiliated with the Tampa Rays), an Oregon based winery specializing in Pinot Noir, and several private real estate management companies that have residential and commercial holdings in the Northeast United States. I am AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and was named a Northern California Super Lawyer by Superlawyers.com in 2008, 2009, 2013 - 2024. I was named Employment Lawyer of the Year for 2021 in Sacramento by Best Lawyers. I served as Editor in Chief of the California Employment Law Blog at www.callaborlaw.com from 2021 to 2024, and spent many years managing our firm's monthly webinar series. I served as Chair for the Sacramento County Bar Association's Diversity Hiring and Retention Committee after serving on that Committee for almost two decades.I taught Introduction to Recreation Law at Sacramento State for ten years. I spent many years coaching high school boys basketball at Folsom High School from 2000 to 2019 and then briefly at El Dorado High School in Placerville, California from 2021-2022. I also coached high school girls lacrosse for three years (2011-2014).
