Mark S. Walton is a Fortune 100 executive educator, social entrepreneur, and Peabody award-winning journalist whose work at the highest levels of business, government, the military and media has spanned more than five decades. He is the founding Chairman of the Center for Leadership Communication, a global executive development enterprise, as well as a former Professor of Leadership at Toyota University, the Kenan-Flagler Graduate Business School at UNC-Chapel Hill, and the U.S. Navy's Advanced Management Program. In 2017, he founded the Second Half Institute, a new division of CLC providing the nation's first public and university-based programs in strategic career reinvention and renewal for accomplished executives and professionals in midlife and beyond. Mark is the Amazon best-selling author of "Unretired: How Highly Effective People Live Happily Ever After" (Profit Research, 2024) and of "Boundless Potential: Reinvent Your Work in Midlife and Beyond" (McGraw Hill, 2012) which become the focus of a national PBS Television Special, "Boundless Potential with Mark Walton." His previous book was Generating Buy-In: Mastering the Language of Leadership (AMACOM, 2004) which was selected by Business Week Magazine as one of the Top 30 business books of the year. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Correspondent and Anchor at CNN and the network's first Chief White House Correspondent. He is a recipient of the coveted George Foster Peabody Award, the Cable Ace Award, the Ohio State Journalism award and numerous other broadcast journalism honors.
