I have twenty-five years of experience in the wire harness/loom building industry. My career in wiring started in a 130 employee company that built harnesses for everything from aerospace, defense to private industries. At that company , I worked on the production floor for about six months then was transferred into the engineering department. After several years in this position, I moved to Indianapolis and continued my wiring career in the auto racing field, which I am very passionate about. Listed below are some highlights of my harness building experiences. •Set up whole wiring departments from the ground up•Improved start-up harness shop by implementing manufacturing procedures and quality control measures using military specifications•Created Drawings, Parts Lists and Wire Connection List for customers that had ideas that needed to be documented and created• Created Bills of Material for massive defense contracts and provided quotes for new customers•Wrote “Statement of Workmanship” for outside contracts and “Work Instructions” for the production floor•Redesigned wiring harnesses and cables to decreased cost and increase durability•Liaison with customers while providing solutions for wire harness building issues •Built simple and complex harnesses including multi-leg contra-helically laid wires•Held a certification for soldering using MIL-STD-2000A •Worked with committee acquiring ISO 9001 accreditation•Practice continual process improvements•Built test fixtures and wrote procedures used by quality control
