About Mark Scheel

I am a Mechanical Engineer working in machine design and drafting at USNR, a world leader in sawmill equipment design and manufacturing. My primary focus at USNR has been material handling, however there have been numerous opportunities to be involved with other machine centers. At this position I most enjoy opportunities to design new concepts from scratch, and opportunities to observe and troubleshoot machinery onsite at commissioning as the individual pieces come together to form the line. I have also enjoyed opportunities to perform engineering analysis and product testing.Outside of work I enjoy home improvement projects, snowboarding, and being outdoors.

This position is heavily focused on machine design. Throughout my time at USNR I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse set of projects and machines including conveyors, chain transfers, chipping modules, profiling modules, planers and planer infeeds, and CLT presses. I also perform various tests and analysis during challenging circumstances. Key Responsibilities:-Solid Modeling-extensive use of Solidworks to create complete large scale assemblies.-Drawings-Create accurate and easy to understand mechanical drawing packages.-FEA-Perform various stress analysis as needed in Solidworks Simulation to provide complete, detailed reports of findings as well as recommendations. -Project monitoring and shop assistance as each machine is manufactured.-Onsite measure up of existing machines for retrofit projects.-Onsite troubleshooting and field service support at time of commissioning.
