Analyze plant processes and design and implement improvements involving but not limited to A/B PLC programming, circuit design, wiring, FANUC robot programming, programming motor drives, and A/B HMI design.  Troubleshoot issues with equipment both electrical and mechanical. Help to plan preventative maintenance procedures and improve maintenance process organization. Currently building a SCADA system using Inductive Automation Ignition software.

Prepare and utilize test equipment for use in qualifying high voltage cabinets, control stands, and other locomotive-related electrical equipment. Analyze schematics and write test scripts using a proprietary language for the testing of said electrical equipment.

Facilitated day to day operations in plant from troubleshooting machine breakdowns to upgrading equipment. Worked with contractors and vendors and helped manage a staff of electricians to complete tasks. Programmed Omron and Allen Bradley PLCs, along with HMIs to alter equipment functionality.

Designed and debugged Fanuc PLC ladder logic for horizontal and vertical machining centers and cylindrical grinding machines. Prepared documentation for option kits, including installation instructions, BOM preparation, electrical CAD drawings and logic concepts, drive parameters, etc. Communicated with customers by phone and online to diagnose control problems and discuss custom control applications and options. Supported machinery installations with electrical and control information as needed. Configured and tested Windows XP and Windows 7 PCs for use in material handling automation systems.

Tested and troubleshot electronics circuits used in control systems for canning manufacture. Analyzed circuit diagrams and circuit board layouts for key testing points and expected values. Designed and built test fixtures for testing procedures.
