As the CEO of a cutting-edge medical device companies, I lead teams of experts that can advance emerging technology to market. This includes early due-diligence, regulatory/clinical strategy, fund raising, team building, R&D, manufacturing and go to market strategies.I bring over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry as a strategic, principled, and intentional leader, known for transforming culture, propelling organizational change, and fast-tracking revenue recognition. At Alertgy I worked with investors, the founder and the board to transform the company into a medical device company bringing in $2.5M in bridge funding and recruiting Regulatory/Clinical, hardware and software (AI) engineers, BD/marketing, accounting/CFO and a QMS team & system.I lead ZIAN’s efforts to advance patient-first innovations, bringing to market life-saving, class-leading technologies inspired by clinicians working in 25+ departments and 6 colleges at the Medical University of South Carolina. Our collaborative, data-driven approach has culminated in an 85%+ licensing rate to major commercial partners, with over 60 issued or pending patents and 3 FDA-approved devices on the market. Before joining ZIAN, I was the VP of R&D for Orthofix’s $140M spinal implants division, leading a 30-member team of engineers, designers, and machinists in the end-to-end development and commercialization of dozens of novel spinal implant systems. A lifelong technologist and trained mechanical engineer, I was an early adopter of 3D printing (1996) – a sophisticated tool we now rely upon at ZIAN and in complex surgical procedures at MUSC – and began my career at Boston Acoustics, where I integrated 3D printing and 3D CAD technologies into its consumer electronics manufacturing process, expediting R&D throughput three-fold. Always held key roles with rapid advancement at public companies and fast-paced start-ups.Specialties: Business Development | Change Management | Commercial Partnerships | Engineering | FDA | Executive Management | Financial Modeling | Intellectual Property | Leadership Development | Life Sciences | Market Strategy | Medical Devices & Equipment | Product Innovation | R&D | Sales | Surgical Instruments | Start-ups | 3D Technologies
