Developed the framework of the retail pricing methodology that is currently in use today across nearly 250 Independent Retailers using 36 zones in five states. Constructed a comprehensive zone analysis template designed to measure current standards or forecast future performance, should a Retailer express interest in an alternate pricing plan. Negotiated agreements with third party services to regularly collect competitive pricing information as needed. Responsible for budgeting and then delivering gross margins to Retailers designed to meet their financial objectives and at the same time, maintain their relevance in the marketplace. In this role, I manage three Retail Analysts and two Category Business Analysts as well as one field clerk.

Responsible for all aspects of Baby and Beauty care to include efficient assortment, promotional planning, plan-o-gram development and maintenance, pricing tactics, invoice reconciliation, and vendor negotiation. Completed and installed nine unique Category Business Plans over this timeframe. This work led to the development of several templates and analytical tools still in place today. Planned and supported two Trade Shows per year in an effort to bolster category sales and profits. Participated in two sessions of GMDC per year and attended multiple sessions of ECRM. In 2009, the Chattem Company recognized my efforts by naming AWI customer of the year for consistently outstanding and timely performance with regard to new item launches.

Responsible for the in-store merchandising of all center store categories across the entire customer base. Developed, installed and maintained an online plan-o-gram program accessible to Retailers, Category Managers, and the Merchandising staff. Wrote, negotiated, and installed the company’s in-store shelf execution program, (FIRST) which is still in place today. Effectively managed a staff of five merchandisers and 76 ISE team members.

Responsible for all aspects of daily store operations, to include profitability, sales growth, and expense control. Managed approximately 240 associates ranging from full-time salaried to part-time hourly classifications. In 1992 my store was awarded second place overall in the annual Top Gun competition for excellence in achieving company standards in merchandising, sanitation, and labor control.
