-Manages architectural design, maintenance, licenses, daily operation, system enhancement, and upgrades for the University phone system and data network; performs project management of telecommunications projects for the University; maintains telecom records-Leadership and management of the Telecommunications department to envision future technology directions and goals for telecommunication development and integration; fosters effective use of resources and directs activities that achieve strategic direction of the University; interacts with end-users, clients, and senior management to define business requirements. -All billing, payments and expenditures of the department. Reviews contracts for hardware and software maintenance and local/long distance telephone services; participates in budget preparation and monitoring for yearly and 5 year plans. Makes recommendations as needed. Ordering of all tools, electronic equipment, cabling and components for department stock and individual projects.-Provides architectural expertise and direction for all telecommunications systems and related applications environment, including the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of system equipment and applications; serves as liaison with telecommunication vendors; analyzes and monitors telephone and campus network circuit utilization and provides cost estimates.-Working with IT and heads of other departments on the needs of the University, and to provide the services that are needed; including wireless internet, security camera and telephones, and CATV.-responsible for the department in all aspects including project management and planning, yearly budget development and capital project expenditures and scheduling.
