Including CAD design, 3D printing of fixtures, and software coding to support the manufacturing of product. Work with the R&D team to streamline the manufacturability of product.Designed, tested, and implemented in nine different countries, an automated compensation/calibration fixture for multiple versions of the laser tracker product. I provided the mechanical design and prototype validation. This system saved the company $625k annually worldwide.Manufacturing support in the form of current and legacy part upgrades/changes and drawing reviews for cost reduction and manufacturing ease are also part of my duties. I work directly with vendors to resolve problems related to out of tolerance and manufacturing problems with mechanical parts.Worked with quality control team to find root cause of quality problems and determine corrective action. Direct interaction with vendors was typically required.Involved in ISO audits (9000 and 17025) and preparation for audits. Assisted quality department in resolving non-conformances. Maintained uncertainty budgets for ISO 17025 items pertaining to onsite equipment.
