Mark W. Smith was Chief Financial Officer of Helmerich & Payne, Inc. (NYSE ticker symbol "HP") for over six years with responsibility for the company's global financial operations, including investor relations, treasury, accounting, tax, risk management, and supply chain. As CFO, Mark was responsible for the company's global financial operations, including investor relations, treasury, accounting, tax, risk management, and information technology. Prior to to the CFO role, Mark was Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer & Controller with responsibility for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting matters at Atwood. He served the company previously as Vice President, Corporate Services overseeing Information Technology, Internal Audit, Facilities and Special Projects. He joined Atwood Oceanics to lead the Internal Audit Department in 2009. Mark has over 30 years of experience including 15 years in auditing and consulting and the last 15+ years in the energy industry in the United States and internationally. Prior to Atwood, Mark was a partner at Calvetti, Ferguson & Wagner, a full-service accounting firm. Other experience includes PricewaterhouseCoopers and Arthur Andersen, as well as Gunn Partners Consulting, where he focused on improving the value of administrative functions. Mark is a Certified Public Accountant and earned both his BBA and MBA from Baylor University. He served for ten years on the board of directors of Child Advocates, Inc. in Houston, which is the CASA organization for Harris County.
