I have research interests in landscape/seascape ecology and eDNA survey techniques. I developed, and now partially deliver, UWE's MSc Advanced Wildlife Conservation in Practice, including the module Innovation and Enterprise for Conservation. I'm honoured to serve as a Trustee for both Somerset and Avon Wildlife Trusts: fantastic organisations who are making a big difference locally. This includes being closely involved with the development of Somerset Wildlife Trust's Honeygar site, which is demonstrating how wetland restoration and agricultural activities can thrive together in the Somerset Levels. I also work closely with the Malagasy NGO Sadabe (https://www.sadabe.org/), running a joint annual field school between UWE Bristol and the University of Antananarivo as well as carrying various reserach and development activities in the newly-designated Tsinjoarivo-Ambalaomby Protected Area.Much of my research involves the use of species-specific eDNA monitoring techniques for monitoring species as diverse as eels, bears and nematodes.
