Architect for initial design stage & planning submission of a Leisure Complex for "Burnley FC in the Community" and a number of medium sized residential projects in the Lancashire region.

Projects included :-- A residential tower of 11 apartments - a contemporary design with an oval shaped plan. - Dartford.- Refurbishment of a Georgian house providing 4 luxury apartments and duplexes, Surbiton, Surrey.- 32 contemporary apartments for HA in Brockley, London.- 26 apartments, traditional design for private developer, Surbiton, Surrey.- 36 contemporary apartments, Catford, London.- Refurbishment & extension of Georgian house providing 9 apartments, inc. new basement, Croydon.- Conversion of 19th century office building into apartments and duplexes, Croydon, London.- A number of public house conversions & extensions for residential purposes, London.- A number of house extensions, London.- Preliminary design for new complex of industrial units, Park Royal, London.

At Devereux I was responsible for the residential sector of the office and completed a number of large scale affordable housing schemes, the most well known of which is the Accordia scheme at Brookland Avenue in Cambridge which achieved a "Very Good" rating on the Eco-homes system ( The "for sale" element of this site has received much press coverage and won the Stirling Award in 2007). The affordable element of the project included 113 housing units and was a mix of flats, duplexes and houses, all of which were built using timber frame. I was also involved in healthcare( Mental Health Facility )& rail work ( Upgrading of London Underground Stations ).

At Watson Batty I was involved in a large number of residential and community centre schemes throughout Yorkshire and Lancashire. I worked with numerous Housing Associations in the north of England on complex and restricted sites and consulted with ethnic minority groups in the design stage of projects.Sites were often impacted by ecological and arboricultural issues, endangered species, rivers or streams with flood problems and difficult topographical terrain.

Healthcare work.

The leisure centre and interior fit-out of a gymnasium for JJB Sports was the largest and most interesting project on which I worked at Shuttleworth Picknett Associates.

I worked thru` the 90s recession in Santiago, the capital of Chile for a company that covered architectural, industrial and graphic design. Applying corporate image to the local offices of national and international companies with a seat in Chile, such as Motorola and Entel Celular I was charged with the responsibility for the upgrading and implimentation of exisitng and new offices throughout the whole country. The largest project on which I worked was the new headquarters for the "Minera Escondida", a large mulit-national mining company with offices in Santiago. The offices covered 5 storeys of a new tower being built in the Las Condes suburb.

In charge of various refurbishment projects in central London. Most important was the refurburbishment of a 5 storey Edwardian office building on Tufton Street in Westminster.

Swimming Pools and leisure centres.

In charge of refurbishment of listed 1850s Quaker building used as an office building for BBC North Region, Leeds. Work involved complete refit of building, replacement floors and period detailing to the exterior.
