Since Graduating from the Central School of Speech and Drama, Mark has taken a keen interest in exploring various forms of theatre from site specific to touring and producing. Working in roles from Technical Swing, Deputy Master Carpenter, and Flyman to more recently Automation Assistant and in house Automation Technician; Mark has been able to utilise his carpentry, mechanical, management and problem-solving skills to suit a wide range of projects. As Stage Automation at the National Theatre, Mark now regularly deals with the setup, programming, operation and REP of a number of produced shows. He also takes a keen interest in participating in work to expand the current TAIT infrastructure around the building. This has included running in Control and Network Connection points to enable more flexibility when mounting a production on stage.Mark takes great pride in ensuring that the physical production is delivered to the best quality in the given circumstances. He is always willing to explore new technologies and skills to aid his working practice and will endeavour to enhance his own learning as and when is appropriate and available.
