• Plan and prepare native forest and hardwood plantation harvest plans across various coastal State forests. • Understand environmental legislation pertaining to timber harvesting and roading operations. • Consult and negotiate with external stakeholders including neighbours, forest permit holders, apiarists, leaseholders, utilities, and various government departments.• Act as an authorised officer to undertake ranger patrols for recreation sites. • Populate Forestry Corporation’s web-based plan portal with maps and documents pertaining to harvesting plans and roading plans. • Undertake Rural Fire Service firefighting duties as required including assessing fire weather conditions and preparing reports and capturing data in ICON to assist with decision making.• Conduct firefighting activities including prescribed burning and wildfire suppression activities.Achievements:• Successfully gained an excellent understanding of the conditions and protocols that make up the Coastal IFOA leading to the completion of four harvest plans and three road plans in the Coastal IFOA format. • Produced accurate and compliant mapping products by developing a high level of skill and knowledge in the use of ArcMap (ESRI geographic information system product) and several custom-built GIS tools developed by Forestry Corporation. • Recognised by former premier of NSW Gladys Berejiklian for my contribution to the NSW bushfire response in 2019/2020.• Maintained an excellent safety record through careful consideration of risks associated with harvesting plans and fire suppression plans.

• Analysed and reported on recreation site visitation using survey data and MetroCount vehicle data.• Provided advice and information to existing and potential forest users including the assessment and issue of forest activity permits and forest land use permits.• Organised and coordinated ranger patrol programs within recreation sites in the Strickland, Ourimbah, Olney, Watagan, Heaton, Chichester, and Barrington Tops State Forests.Achievements:• Accurately positioned and maintained MetroCount equipment, extracting data from the unit, and analysing the data for reporting. • Developed a Microsoft Access database to track and report on issued forest permits (both activity and land permits) which clearly highlighted revenue.• Successfully prepared a new forest land permit for the Newcastle Hang Gliding Club which included an ecological survey of 4-5 sites identifying the impact to flora and fauna extensive networking and collaboration with the ecology team.• Oversight of a major extension to the Ecoline Tree Tops Adventure Park in Ourimbah State Forest ensuring environmental compliance by assessing the submissions made by environmental consultants on behalf of Ecoline. • Oversight of a volunteer forest rehabilitation project run by Youth Connections which ran over several weeks in Strickland State Forest and involved the treatment and removal of small-leaf privet (Ligustrum sinense) which is a serious environmental weed throughout Australia, with infestations threatening biodiversity.
