Managed allocation of ventilators to hospitals during peak of Covid pandemic, coordinating 24/7 with clinical field teams, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure delivery to hospitals with most urgent need.

Drove new inorganic and commercial growth opportunities in respiratory, critical care, digital health, and patient monitoring. Conducted technical and strategic due diligence on over 12 venture and M&A targets. Delivered a NICU-focused commercial strategy, playbook, and targeting tools which leveraged clinician preference and hospital standardization to capture entire hospital accounts.

Advanced Device Sciences was an independent consulting firm focused on scientific and engineering services and upstream marketing assessments of early-stage technologies. Core capabilities included optoelectronics, medical devices, customer needs assessment and market research. Our diverse client base ranged from small technology companies to large verticals across multiple industries, including noted innovators such as Apple, Texas Instruments, and Covidien.

I led a development program of red, green, and blue lasers for extremely high-performance digital cinema projectors and flat-screen televisions. Lasers provided the most brilliant colors and dynamic range possible in a digital projector, and competed with plasma and LCD technologies for large, high-end flat screen TVs. The RGB lasers utilized external cavity frequency-doubled VCSEL technology licensed from Novalight, and commercialization involved a number of breakthrough advances in semiconductor fabrication, automated precision opto-mechanical assembly, and business development of a high-volume supply chain of advanced optical components. I managed the joint development agreement with Novalight, our semiconductor partner and technology licensor, an engineering team based in Golden, and supported business development of advanced component manufacturers and OEM integrators throughout the value chain. We achieved pilot production in 2008. Unfortunately, by that time, competing LCD technology had advanced so rapidly that the market window for laser projection closed.

At NIST I led a research program in optical nanotechnology, developing photonic crystals and other nano-fabricated devices which greatly enhanced LED efficiency, detected individual photons, and controlled dispersion of lasers which could lead to miniaturized ultrafast lasers.
