I was appointed to the position of Operations manager in December 2009 but did not take up the role until the end of January 2010.The role… Show more I am currently the Operations Manager of Topaz Marine Azerbaijan Topaz Marine Azerbaijan are the premier supplier of Offshore Support vessels to the Azerbaijan Oil fields and run a fleet of modern AHTS vessels ranging from 150 t to 170 t Bollard Pull vessels, six modern UT 755 class PSV's (DP2) and two modern Oil field ERRV's. I was appointed to the position of Operations manager in December 2009 but did not take up the role until the end of January 2010.The role encompasses the responsibility for the day to day operation of the vessels, both commercially and operationally with a focus on budgetary control and safe operations of the vessels, with close liaison with the QHSE Manager, HR and vessel Masters to ensure the operations of the vessels is to the highest standard possible. We are also in the process of taking delivery of three new vessels this year which requires visits to construction yards for the fit out, registering the vessel with Flag, planning crewing, developing passage routing and contingencies for vessels transiting the Gulf of Aden. Liaising and planning towage contracts to transit the boats through the Russian Inland waterway both from Saint Petersburg and through the Black Sea and Volga Don Systems through to the Caspian Sea.My role also requires incident investigation for which I am suitably certified, with auditor status for both ISM 9001:2008, and Environmental Auditing to ISO 14001:2004 & BS OHSAS 18001:2007 standard, and ISM internal Auditing courses. During my previous role as Port Captain (Marine Superintendent) of BUE Caspian I was responsible for the day to day operations of the boats, promoting safety awareness with the implementation of the ISM code. I was instrumental in setting up deck planned maintenance and Fire Equipment Maintenance systems to comply with class and flag requirements.
