My role within the Group was Head of Finance for the Galleys subsidiary and responsibilities included: • Controlling Galleys finances and managing the activities of the finance department• Preparation of month end financial results, supplementary analysis and commentary • Presenting results / providing explanations to Group Executives in monthly management meetings• Reporting financial performance of both engineering and manufacturing aspects of the business• Preparation of 5 year forecasts• Preparation and presentation of annual budgets for Group Executive approval • Regular sales, profit, balance sheet, FX and cash flow forecasting • Preparation of analysis for capital investment and strategic decisions • Development of strategic and managerial business models in Excel • Involved in commercial meetings to assess any financial impact to current forecasts• Submission of month end results to Group and ensuring compliance with Group policies• Treasury management• Overseeing and co-ordinating financial system development and change • Statutory audits and business grant audits • Preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax information

Thaxsys provided a range of accounting services to enable better management decision making and control. Included development of budgets, financial reporting and analysis, improvement of failing management accounting reporting systems and the development of bespoke software.

Worked with the Finance Director to improve management information by developing budget models and managements accounting reports.

Page Aerospace subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC) involved in the development and manufacture of components for the aviation industry. Customers included Boeing, Airbus and the Ministry of Defence. Personal responsibilities ranged from the preparation of management accounts and other business control reports, development of accounting and control information systems, statutory accounts work, business tax preparation and submissions, pension audit work and ad hoc analysis for the Managing Director, Finance Director, Department Managers or customers. This role reported directly to the Group Finance Director and was SOX compliance manager.
