NHEP provides innovative enrichment classes to elementary and middle schools, including game design, 3D printing, and rocketry. My responsibilities cover the full stack of activities: developing contacts with schools, nurturing community engagement and awareness of our program, recruiting and internally managing a team, designing curricula, and negotiating deals with schools.

As an instructor, I taught individual and group classes in popular game design environments, including Unity, Gamemaker, and Construct 3. Most of my individual sessions were with neuro-atypical and special needs students. Here, I used gameplay and game design to teach skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and creativity to equip the students with relevant life skills. Teaching one-on-one courses required me to design unique games for each student. For example, some students were more interested in level design and object interaction, while others took more interest in programming. As a result, I created dozens of unique games that met individual students’ needs.
