• Appointed by the Governor of Virginia, Hon. Timothy M. Kaine, to serve on Virginia’s Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice. The Committee is responsible for reviewing the operation of the juvenile justice system in Virginia, recommending needs and priorities for the improvement of the system, and advising the Governor on matters related to the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act. The Committee also makes recommendations to the Criminal Justice Services Board on awards under federal block grants. • Served on Government Relations Subcommittee which reviews state and federal juvenile justice legislation.

• President of one of the largest Young Democrat chapters in Virginia and one of the largest groups on campus. • Authorized all expenditures up to $5000. Strong fiscal management allowed the chapter to make political donations to candidates for the first time in its history. • Conducted membership drives and successfully doubled the size of the chapter.
