Mark A. Tyson is a Senior Technology Consultant specializing in technical development processes, technical architecture and user interface design. Mark began his technical career at IBM in Boca Raton, Fl. There he worked as one of the original developers of the PC-DOS operating system for the IBM PC (Versions 1.10 – 4.0). During his time in Boca Raton, Mark authored well known DOS utilities such as FDISK, XCOPY, BACKUP and RESTORE. For three years Mark served as an onsite technical liaison between IBM and Microsoft (Seattle) for operating systems development. While at IBM, Mark also programmed and managed development of embedded disk drive control systems (San Jose, Ca ), hospital management solutions (Atlanta, Ga) and multimedia software (Atlanta, Ga). Mark participated on multiple IEEE standards committees, including the SCSI and Shared Serial device interfaces.Mark left after a decade with IBM to create his first startup company, Midtown Multimedia, which developed multiple award winning CD-ROM solutions for the personal computer industry. Later, Mark was a founder of Inter Logic Studios, a multimedia and internet services firm, which was acquired by USWeb/CKS in 1998. He then co-founded HotelTools, an internet based property management and reservation system for extended stay hotels. Radiant Systems acquired HotelTools in 2002.Mark served as a Director of Product Development at Radiant Systems, managing development of software solutions for Radiant’s Entertainment, Hospitality, Enterprise Resource Management, Credit Card Processing, Workforce Optimization and Systems Integration offerings. Mark was instrumental in introducing Agile development methodologies to multiple Radiant development organizations.Mark is currently a principal at Waterbrook Bespoke, an internet and technology consulting practice that specializes in providing CTO level services to private equity groups, early-stage startups and mid-sized corporations.
