Chief Administrative Officer (Cao)
CurrentOrganizational context - Spanning approximately 250 square kilometres in northern York Region, the town is reported through census data as the fasted growing municipality in Canada! A mix of rural and urban consisting of approximately 36k residents. Provincially designated for exponential growth, the town's population is projected to exceed 50K by 2031 and is projected to grow to 127k by 2051. The publicly elected Council consists of the Mayor and 6 ward councillors. Position - Reporting to the Mayor and Council, assumed the role of Chief Administrative Officer in 2023. Led the development of the nationally recognized Municipal Peak Performance Program to drive innovation, improve municipal services and reduce cost. Lead the team in response to the Covid pandemic and "Optimal Service Delivery" recovery planning. Facilitate strategic organizational development initiatives and provide organizational leadership and support to the senior management team as well as to the elected Council. Since joining the Town in 2009 in the role of General Manager of Corporate Services/Treasurer, have provided leadership in a variety of functional areas including Finance as Treasurer, Human Resources and Organizational Development, Communications and Public Engagement, Customer Service, Clerk's Office and Municipal Elections, Information Management and Technology, Modernization and Transformation, Data Analytics and Geographic Information Systems, Bylaw Enforcement and Licensing, Economic and Community Development as well as interim oversight of Development Services (Planning and Building branches). Led the creation and implementation of the corporate culture framework based on 4 key commitments focused on Customer Experience, Creativity and Innovation, Partnerships and Collaboration, and Lifelong Learning.
